Some solutions for creating these types of banner only work on Android or iOS; whereas AppBanner can work on both. Additionally AppBanner does not engage in any privacy invasive tracking or sharing of user data to third parties. AppBanner is completely self-contained to your website.
If you come to this webpage using an iOS or Android device, you should see the AppBanner stack appear at the top of this page. It has been configured with a sample app icon and some test content. The links only lead to the front pages of either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
For the benefit of desktop users, here is a screenshot of what AppBanner looks like inside the RapidWeaver 8 simulator tool. Click to open the screenshot in a new browser tab:
Usage of AppBanner is really simple. Just add one AppBanner stack to each page, wherever you want it shown. The stack can be configured as a Partial, to make this task easier. With the stack selected in edit mode, you can choose which platforms to target and provide the details for your app.
You can choose to target Android and / or iOS devices. It is not possible to single-out smartphones and tablet devices. In instances where you have different prices for smartphone and tablet apps, it may be sensible to not display any price in your banner. Replace the price with the word 'PAID' or similar.
Why the limited style options?
The banners created by AppBanner are designed to match the same ones that Google and Apple supply to developers. Therefore the design is consistent with what other websites use and what your website users are most familiar with seeing. If you really do need to change the style of your generated banner, then this is still feasible using custom CSS code. However this is discouraged, unless you have a good reason to change the appearance.
